Sunni Endowments Directorate has signed three agreements with donors to build four mosques in Salman City, Bahrain. Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, ordered the development plan for mosques in the Kingdom’s governorates to be launched. He also ordered that 20 mosques owned by Sunni and Jaafari Endowments across the Kingdom be inaugurated and restored, and that 12 mosques be built in Salman City. In order to reduce the burden of debt on debt-burdened countries, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a deal with the Federal Republic of Somalia on Tuesday. A statement from KFAED explains that the deal came after Somalia’s right to withdraw had been revoked in 1989. In order to schedule all debt payments, the fund coordinated with the federal government. On behalf of the fund, the general director Marwan Al-Ghanim signed the agreement, while on behalf of the Somali Republic, Dr. Abdullah Oduwa signed on behalf of the ambassador.

In response to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the Chinese capital Beijing, the city has started mass testing for its millions of residents. In Beijing’s Chaoyang district, 26 cases have been reported over the weekend, the highest number so far in this recent outbreak. It is believed that the number of cases is vastly underreported according to social media reports. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, the capital’s first low-cost carrier, today unveiled plans to launch a new flight from the capital to Mumbai in India, beginning on May 12th 2022. Mumbai is the sixth city in India that Air Arabia Abu Dhabi flies to after Calicut, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram. Nawah Energy Company (Nawah) commenced regular nuclear refueling phase and maintenance of Unit 1 of the Barakah Nuclear Power plant, according to the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR). As part of this phase, new nuclear fuel assemblies will be added, and several maintenance and testing activities will be performed on equipment for power production, safety-related systems, and others.
